April 2 is World Autism Awareness Day. This is a day that we recognize and celebrate the rights of persons with autism. This year’s observances take place in the midst of a public health crisis unlike any other in our lifetimes and has necessitated changes in the way that we celebrate those with autism. Normally we would form a team and participate in a group walk with hundreds of other participants.
Unfortunately, that will not happen this year. Instead, we are doing a Virtual Walk to support the Autism Society of Alabama. Join us and the Autism Society of Alabama in the Virtual Walk for Autism today, #WorldAutismAwarenessDay!
Share a photo of you walking in your favorite autism awareness t-shirt or holding an awareness sign and use #AutismAcceptanceAL to show your support.
We can’t walk together, but we can still unite online! #WorldAutismMonth
